Getting into college is more competitive than ever. Students are applying to college in record numbers. The bar to get into the most selective college colleges keeps rising year after year. In order to make sure their child gets into the college of their choice many families seek the help of a professional. Here are some of the top reasons why families hire a College Planner:

Parents are busy and don’t have the time or energy to do the necessary research to find the right college for their child.

Parents who value time more than money and would rather spend what free time they have on personal and/or family activities and pay a professional to help their child with career assessments, recommendations on courses and extracurricular activities, admission test preparation, applications and Free College Consulting research.

Parents who want their child to have more personal attention than what is usually available from high school counselors. Many believe high school counselors are so overwhelmed with caseloads of students (average of 600.) Counselors spend most of their time meeting with at risk students with very little attention given to students who seek help with college planning.

Parents who know other families that use college planners/educational consultants and feel their child will be at a disadvantage if they don’t use a planner/consultant.

Parents don’t understand how the college application process works. Busy parents don’t want to invest the time completing all the necessary forms and keeping track of the required deadlines because they fear they will miss or forget something.

Parents are anxious about getting their child into the “best” schools. It used to be simple to get into college – you fill out the application and wait for your acceptance letter. Those days are over. Students these days must be competitive with their grades, academic rigor, test scores, extracurricular activities and written expression.

Parents that believe college planners/educational consultants are insiders with established connections and as a result are in the best position to help them get their child into the college of their choice.
